ABSTRACT Friends from donor countries mostly carry out mobilisation of political and financial support for the Fund while those from grant receiving countries focus on raising awareness about the three diseases.
Since the establishment of the Global Fund in 2002, various organisations have been formed as “Friends of the Fund.” They promote the work of the Fund and mobilise financial and political support for it.
These organisations do not receive funding from the Global Fund. They raise money from various donors. Their core of objectives and activities vary. Those from donor countries mostly carry out mobilisation of political and financial support for the Fund, while those from grant receiving countries focus on raising awareness about the three diseases and how to apply for and implement grants.
The following is a list of the Friends organisations.
