Efforts to remove those barriers fall under Strategic Objective 3, which calls for promoting and protecting human rights

An advisory review by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has identified steps the Global Fund can take to strengthen its efforts to remove human rights-related barriers to accessing services for HIV, tuberculosis and malaria, even as it acknowledges that the Fund is "one of the leading organizations to include the removal of human rights-related barriers to services among its strategic objectives." The recommendations fall under three broad categories: aligning human rights investments and understanding with corporate priorities; clarifying roles and objectives to drive the Fund's strategic objective of promoting and protecting human rights and gender equality; and improving monitoring of human rights-related investments and outputs.
