ABSTRACT Failure to comply with any of the eligibility requirements may lead to a Round 10 proposal being categorised as ineligible by the Global Fund Secretariat. Ineligible proposals will not be forwarded to the Technical Review Panel (TRP) for review.

Failure to comply with any of the eligibility requirements may lead to a Round 10 proposal being categorised as ineligible by the Global Fund Secretariat. Ineligible proposals will not be forwarded to the Technical Review Panel (TRP) for review.

This is the central message of a strongly-worded “Important Notice to All Round 10 Applicants: Eligibility,” which has been posted on the Global Fund website along with the other Round 10 documents.

In its notice, the Global Fund reminds applicants that as part of their Round 10 application, they are required to submit documentation illustrating compliance with these requirements. “Due to the tight timeline for Round 10,” the notice says, “applicants are strongly advised to pay close attention to each of the requirements applicable to their applicant type, to ensure that all requirements are satisfied, and to ensure that all relevant documents are submitted with their proposal.”

In the weeks following submission of their proposals, applicants may be contacted by Global Fund staff requesting additional clarifications on eligibility. The notice from the Fund says that applicants “must respond to these requests according to the communicated deadlines” and that “the timelines will be very strict.” The notice goes on to say that “should clarifications be requested, please ensure that all of the necessary documentation is provided in full before the deadline to ensure that all relevant information is considered in eligibility decisions affecting your application.” (Emphasis provided by the Global Fund.)

All applicants to the Global Fund have to meet certain requirements. They vary by applicant type. The notice from the Global Fund contains a series of links to documents that explain the requirements. The requirements are also outlined in “The Aidspan Guide to Round 10 Applications to the Global Fund – Volume 1: Getting a Head Start,” available at www.aidspan.org/guides.
