Grant Performance Analysis - How to

Components of the Tool:

The tool has six selection boxes representing different sets of criteria:

  1. Region (as used by the Global Fund, 2013 (REF); 

  2. Country (only countries that have ever received funds from the Global Fund are included)

  3. Disease programs: HIV, TB, HIV/TB, Malaria, HSS, Integrated

  4. PR - name of organization or government entity

  5. PR Type - (Civil Society Organization/ NGO, Private sector or governmental)

  6. Grant number (this is the reference given by the Global Fund to each separate grant)

Once a filter is chosen, the tool automatically limits the number of available grants and data points. Graphs are generated based on the time period selected and the number of evaluation ratings available.

How to draw a graph

Example 1: Single country performance over time

Step One. Name your graph. (e.g. Kenya from 2003)

Step Two. Select date range. By default, this begins in 2003

Step Three. Select Kenya from the country drop-down menu

Step Four. Select an individual disease component

Step Five. Click ‘Add Another Graph’

Step Six. Repeat steps four and five until all disease components are represented.

Step Seven. Click ‘Draw Graph’

Example 2: Comparison of disease components: country vs region

Step One. Name your graph. (e.g Democratic Republic of Congo HIV from 2003/Central Africa HIV from 2003/High Impact Africa 1 HIV from 2003)

Step Two. Select date range. By default, this begins in 2003

Step Three. Select DRC from the country drop-down menu

Step Four. Select HIV from disease components

Step Five. Click ‘Add Another Graph’

Step Six. Repeat steps four and five until all regions and countries are represented

Step Seven. Click ‘Draw Graph’

This flow process can be adapted based on the criteria selected; it can be as wide or as narrow as your analysis.
