Global Fund Board approves $36 million for country and multicountry grants

Another $66 million was approved for interventions on the UQD Register

On 31 January 2019, the Global Fund Board approved three country grants worth $13.4 million. It also approved two multicountry grants valued at $22.5 million. The Board was acting on the recommendations of the Technical Review Panel (TRP) and the Grant Approvals Committee (GAC). See Tables 1 and 2 for listings of the country and multi-country grants.

In the past few years we have heard many announcements - such as today's - about scaling up plans and programs regarding HIV/AIDS treatment. They have come from UNAIDS, WHO, PAHO and the Global Fund, as well as generic and originator drug companies. But after the press coverage dies down, things don't seem to change very much for the people who need these drugs.
